Overview
POOF ("the app") is a cannabis tracking and reduction app intended for adults aged 21 and older who want to monitor, reduce, or quit their cannabis consumption. This privacy policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
The short version: We collect the minimum data needed to make the app work. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't share your tracking data with anyone.
What Data We Collect
Account Data
- Authentication: Email address and/or anonymous authentication via Firebase Authentication. You can use the app with an anonymous account (no email required).
- Profile: Display name (optional).
Tracking Data
- Usage logs: Timestamps, duration, strain type, strain name, and optional notes for each session you record. This data is the core of the app and is used to show you your patterns and progress.
- Strain details (optional): THC and CBD percentages, terpene profiles, and effects — only if you choose to enter them.
- Settings: Your preferences including goal type (quit, reduce, t-break, or track), quit date, t-break dates, weekly spend estimate, and usage pattern.
- Onboarding responses: Goal selection and baseline usage estimate.
Device Data
- Device identifiers: Anonymous device ID for crash reporting.
- Platform: iOS or Android, OS version, app version. Used for debugging and compatibility.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the app's core features: Tracking, charts, progress visualization, and daily guidance.
- To sync across devices: Your tracking data is stored in Google Firebase/Firestore so you can access it from any device signed into your account.
- To improve the app: Aggregate, anonymized usage patterns (not individual tracking data) may be used to improve app features.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not show advertisements.
- We do not share your individual tracking data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for marketing purposes.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, or other device features.
Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored in Google Firebase/Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit.
- Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
- We follow standard security practices for mobile applications.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account exists.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app.
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy
POOF is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (as defined by COPPA) or under 16 (as defined by GDPR). If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format

Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and/or on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
